Our Soul to Keep – The Vibrant Arts & Culture Edition

Since we met in 2018, Angela and I have consistently been collaborating in ways that we hope contribute to the healing, restoration and well-being of Black folks. Thanks to the support of the Vibrant Arts and Culture Fund of the Cincinnati Foundation, she and I are collaborating again. This time, Angela is commissioned to create a textile around the theme of how community and culture can support the healing and restoration of Black women. In addition to the commission, we will host a communal heritage and healing retreat. Our lead partner is the YWCA of Hamilton thanks to Charla Hale, who serves as the JEDI officer for the YWCA Hamilton and is a Diasporic Soul.
